Family Program Retreat (Part 3 of 3)

Spiritual Program Retreat is pleased to be offering the Family Program Retreat. We're going to explore the journey that families have to traverse around alcohol and addiction struggles offering a life of recovery for everyone involved; families, friends, addicts, and alcoholics. Make plans now to join us April 12-14, 2024.

I don’t think I knew myself at all because I was so distracted by everybody else and trying to manage them to try cajoling them to try and make them healthy and happy because then I’d be okay and as a family member my drug of no choice is a moving changing target all the time just as a substance is for a person who uses substances. We don’t have to live at the mercy of that running our lives.
— Margaret Swift Thompson, Executive Director & Family Recovery Coach

All of our retreats are based on the Twelve Step program outlined in Alcoholics Anonymous; this is still the most effective means of arresting addictions. The Twelve Step program is also an effective way to help family members - you will get the same type of tools as your loved one has been given to navigate alcoholism and addiction.

We are poised to be an integral part of the Recovery Community in our region; a place to call home for people in recovery and their families.

A key to our success and our ability to offer low-cost programming, is the full-on involvement of our alumni volunteers. “Practical Experience shows that nothing will so much insure immunity from drinking(addictions) as intensive work with other alcoholics (addicts).” Alcoholics Anonymous pg 89.
